Brussels Airport
UX & UI design at the heart of Europe
My journey at Brussels Airport
I joined Brussels Airport in 2020, at a pivotal moment. Since then, I’ve never stopped realizing how much I love working here. It’s not just a transit hub: it’s a world in motion, a small city within the city, full of services and human stories. My role as a UX and UI designer allows me to shape all of this, imagine smoother user journeys, and provide travelers with digital tools that make their experience more enjoyable.
But what I value the most is that I don’t walk this path alone: I’m part of a dynamic, fun, and creative team, where we work hard but always with energy and complicity.
BRUce, from chatbot to digital ambassador
Shortly after I arrived, I discovered BRUce, the Brussels Airport chatbot. It was already a useful tool, capable of answering travelers’ practical questions, but something was missing: a presence, a personality that would make it truly close to passengers.
That’s where I stepped in: I gave BRUce a face and an identity that made it engaging. Little by little, together with the team, we fed it with content and features, turning it into an indispensable travel companion.
Today, BRUce is not just a robot answering practical questions: it tracks flights, helps with orientation, reassures passengers… and it has been awarded best chatbot several times. It’s a bit like watching a colleague grow and gain confidence — and that’s a real pride for the whole team.
The Brussels Airport app
In 2025, we launched the new Brussels Airport app, an ambitious project to which I devoted a lot of energy. Together with the team, we designed the app as a complete travel companion: flight tracking, waiting times at controls, service booking, BRUce integration…
My role was to turn this complexity into a clear and intuitive experience, with a modern and consistent design. Seeing the app adopted by so many travelers is a great pride and a key milestone in my journey at Brussels Airport.
Everyday digital experiences
Beyond BRUce and the app, I also contribute to Brussels Airport’s websites. Every page and every component is designed to be useful, accessible, and pleasant to navigate. I make sure to create consistency across all platforms, so that Brussels Airport’s digital experience matches the quality of what travelers experience on site.
A shared passion
What makes my work unique is the combination of my deep attachment to Brussels Airport and the energy of my team. We take on ambitious challenges, but always in a spirit of collaboration and good humor.
Each project is a new opportunity for me to do what I love most: creating concrete, human, and useful tools that improve the lives of travelers and the airport community, and that help a place I truly love shine.
